Examine Your Drinking Habits
Many adults enjoy a drink occasionally when socializing with friends and family. Depending on various factors in your life, drinking can be harmful to certain people more than others.

High risk drinking can lead to many negative health and personal effects such as unintentional injury, health problems such as heart disease, cancer, sexually transmitted diseases from unsafe sex and alcohol use disorders.

Here are some guidelines for low risk drinking.*

Low-risk drinking limits: For men, no more than 7 drinks per day, no more than 14 drinks per week. For women, no more than 3 drinks per day and no more than 7 drinks per week. To stay low riks stay within both the daily and weekly limits.

*Based on personal factors, your guidelines may be different. Talk to your doctor.

Consider the following questions to gauge your understanding of drinking alcohol:
Do you know what counts as 1 drink?
Do you know how many drinks are in common containers?
Do you know the signs that alcohol is causing harm?
